Forward Ports for a MyXerver MX3600 device
When you use a MyXerver MX3600 device you may need to forward ports in your router. Forwarding ports is used to allow incoming connection requests from the internet to a MyXerver MX3600 device.
Routers are not designed to allow incoming network requests. By forwarding ports you can work around this limitation.
Before You Forward a Port
You need to know the following things before you can forward a port:
- The IP address of your router.
- Your NAS's internal IP address.
- The TCP and UDP ports that need to be forwarded.

Alternatively you can do it by hand. The way to forward a port is:
- Begin by logging in to your router.
- Locate your routers port forwarding section.
- Type the IP address of your NAS into the correct box in your router.
- Enter the TCP and UDP ports that you need to forward for a MyXerver MX3600 device in the corresponding boxes in your router.
Some routers need to be rebooted in order for the changes to be saved.
