Setting Up a Port Forward for an EverFocus ELUX DVR
You might need to forward some ports in your router when you use an EverFocus ELUX DVR. A port forward allows incoming connection requests from the internet to go straight to an EverFocus ELUX DVR.
Routers are not designed to allow incoming network requests. By forwarding ports you can work around this limitation.

Make sure that you know these things before forwarding a port:
- Your router's internal IP address.
- The internal IP address of your DVR.
- Each of the TCP and UDP ports that you need to forward.

You can use our Network Utilities software to automatically forward ports for you. Our Network Utilities software allows you to add port forwards and also remove them when you no longer need them to maximize your network security.
You can also choose to set up port forwards manually. The process for forwarding a port is:
- Log in to your router.
- Locate your routers port forwarding section.
- Type your DVR's IP address into the correct box in your router.
- Put the TCP and UDP ports that you are forwarding for an EverFocus ELUX DVR in the correct boxes in your router.
Usually you have to reboot your router in order to save the changes.
