Set Up a Port Forward for a Y-cam Wireless IP Camera
You may need to forward ports in your router when you use a Y-cam Wireless IP Camera. A port forward allows incoming connection requests from the internet to go straight to a Y-cam Wireless IP Camera.
By default routers do not allow incoming network requests. A port forward can overcome this limitation.
Before You Forward a Port
Before forwarding a port make sure that you know these things:
- Your router's internal IP address.
- The internal IP address of your camera.
- The list of the TCP and UDP ports that you need to forward.

Forwarding a Port for a Y-cam Wireless IP Camera

Alternatively you can do it by hand. The normal process for forwarding a port is:
- Start by logging in to your router.
- Locate your routers port forwarding section.
- Put your camera's IP address in the proper box in your router.
- Put the TCP and UDP ports for a Y-cam Wireless IP Camera in the corresponding boxes in your router.
Some routers need to be rebooted in order for the changes to be saved.
