Setting Up a Port Forward for Pi Node
You might need to forward some ports in your router when you use Pi Node. Forwarding ports is used to allow incoming connection requests from the internet to Pi Node.
Routers are not designed to allow incoming network requests. Forwarding ports can work around this limitation.
Before Forwarding a Port
Before forwarding a port make sure that you know these things:
- Your router's IP address.
- The IP address of your device.
- A list of TCP and UDP ports that need to be forwarded.

- Log in to your router.
- Look for the port forwarding section in your router.
- Type the IP address of your device into the correct box in your router.
- Put the TCP and UDP ports that you are forwarding for Pi Node in the correct boxes in your router.
Some routers need to be rebooted in order for the changes to be saved.
